Things to Do 365 Days a Year in Lake Geneva WI: Day 28 – Looking to Have SNOW Much Fun?

wilmot tubing Wilmot WIWinter brings a whole new collection of  Things to Do in Lake Geneva Wi.   Looking to Have Snow Much Fun? Only Thrill-seekers Need to Step-up, for a Tubing Experience at Wilmot Mountain, Wilmot, WI.

Only 6 miles from Hwy 50 in Lake Geneva, WI and a 60 minute drive from the Chicagoland area. Wilmot Ski Hill has been providing skiing, and man-made snow for over 50 years (it was one of the first ski hills in the Midwest to  make snow all ski season long.) This year, Wilmot Ski Hill opened a brand new Tubing area.  The Tubing area is just south of the ski hill and is 1000 ft long with 20 lanes. I’m most excited about the covered conveyor system that takes you and your tube, back to the top of the tubing hill. The Wilmot tubing hill is open 7 days a week, during the winter season. Tubers have been reporting speeds of 38mph during the day and up to 50 mph at night, so be ready to have a “thrilling” ride. Wilmot has a brand new indoor lodge under construction, and during the “under construction phase” indoor bathrooms are available for patrons.  Do dress for the weather and be ready to have a great time.

Tubing is a kid-friendly and family- friendly activity just 20 minutes south of downtown Lake Geneva, WI. Please let us know about your experience, it’s always good to get first hand feedback on our suggestions on Things to Do in the Lake Geneva WI area.

Start your  day with a visit to  The Cheese Box They are located at 801 S. Wells Street, on what the locals know as “motel & fast food alley”. The Cheese Box has been a long-standing local business. For over 60 years they’ve been providing locals & visitors fine quality cheeses, sandwiches and  sweets, as well as preparing & shipping gift baskets. The Cheese Box is also known by many locals as the spot for a great lunch, featuring a box lunch with a fresh baked breads, build-a-sandwich, crunchy pickle and then a choice of a fresh made cookie, brownie, or a side. I consider myself a brownie connoisseur, and The Cheese Box always gets “2 thumbs up” from me. They  also offer weekly specials (this week’s to-die-for dessert is Key Lime Pie – one of my favorities).  For those with gluten allergies, I noticed they are now offering “Gluten Free” products.
